Custom Wood Stairs in Queens, NYC

These Custom Wood Stairs were made to replace an older staircase that was removed during a gut renovation. The new stairs were made from Douglas Fir Stringers, White Oak treads and Poplar risers. The treads were cut on the bottom horizontally to minimize cupping and add stability, everything was pocket screwed, structurally screwed and glued to keep everything solid and sturdy. The Stringers and Risers were painted white while the Treads were finished with Polyurethane. Importantly, these stairs were also made to be Code-Compliant with the rise/run.
